UPDATE JUNE 5th - 6/5/2010

It's been way too long since I lastg left a blog...but a lot has been happening at Footsteps Publishing.

For starters, I now have an MUA to make the girls look all the more better.  Audrey.  Here she is:

I've known Audrey a very long time, and she's bee a tremendous asset with her return.  She has many great ideas, and we're doing some kind of Horror, Fantasy, Surreal book together.

Speaking of book, Mary's book, a tribute to Edgar Allan Poe is done and out.  You can have a copy for $10...and that includes postage.  Want a sneak peek at what it looks like?  Ask no more, as here she is:

Speaking of new and exciting, I started working with Morgan.  She will be not only doing her own book, but one with someone else as well.  I bet Albany, New York never knew it had so many pretty women!

Lots planned for Morgan before she returns to college in the fall.

What else.  Did a biker shoot.  This will be for a local shop here in Albany.

If you're interested in being part of the many projects that Footsteps Publishing is doing, please send me an email, with a recent picture attached, as well as your age.  You must be old enough to legally sign a release.  In the meantime, I'm making ready a series of shots to be made into note cards to be sold (I HOPE) at Art on Lark in a few weeks in Albany, NY.  Stop by and say hello.  Here's one more picture...this one of Morgan:

Morgan...

LAUREN...STILL!  Nuts about her.

  Jenna...always new...always super.

It's been awhile since I've written anything here, so I feel I have a lot of catching up to do.

For starters, I'm now working on three Edgar Alan Poe projects, and all three are fun as the people I'm working with--Jenna, Mary, and Sara are fun.  You'll have to keep your eye posted here to see what it's all about.  Jenna's project started it all off and should be to the printer by next week!  In the meantime, Mary has started shooting her Poe project.

This is Sara...very exotic...and easy to shoot.  She will be the third project for Poe.

Just me Updating Footsteps Publsihing - 2/5/2010

A lot of people have asked me why I do what I do.  I mean, aren't retired people supposed to just sit around all day and read AARP?  Nope.

I've always loved photography.  I graduated from the Germain School of Photography in NYC, where I had pictures appear in The New York Times, Long Island's Newsday, and several other papers.  Growing up, I've always loved movies, and especially movie making.  Knowing I could never make a movie, I did the next best visual thing--and took up photography.

Those early days were interesting.  But all that was out there for jobs were weddings, and other rites of passages, none of which interested me.

It wasn't till I retired from teaching, that I decided to take up photography again, and have done it for nearly seven years now.

I feel energized when I shoot because I'm creating.  I try and do uncommon pictures, and not the typical glam shit that so many local photogrpahers opt for.  I can't emphasize that enough--I like to be different with what I create.  i love the horror, fantasy, and sci fi genres, so with the help of Photoshop, I try and create pictures that fall into that realm.  It's not just the pretty girls.  I'm attracted to the electricial drive to excel.  Moreover, it's what I've wanted to do all my life.  The last seven years have reawakened my passion for photography and doing more publications that use my work.  Furthermore, I've met so many nice people.  Vanessa kicks off the list.  Not only is she my web mistress (sans whips), she's my Dr. Phil.  We've had long talks, and she's always been great.  I love working with Mary, who is easy to shoot and talk with.  Chloe keeps me sharp.  Jenna's beauty is amazing...and her intelligence and warmth run deep.  I love shooting Lauren, and just wish we could do more, the same with Sara.  Corinna is a newcomer, but boy, she is showing such drive!  Jessica is finding her niche as well.  I love working with Frank and Ray at Camelot printers.  These guys know their stuff, and always make me look great with their work.  Of course, I love meeting new girls, and hope to find many more.

In short, it's fun.

Seeking new models... - 1/25/2010

I'm doing a new project that involves movies.  I will confess that I was quite inspired by the movie Inglorious Basterds.  So if you are at least 18, and able to legally sign a release, and are a female, drop a line.  The picture below will give you an expample of what I'm looking for.  The model is Sara, and she may be kicking off this new idea.

This is a test January 13th - 1/13/2010

This is my first crack at blogging, so please be patient.

I'm thrilled with how my web is starting to develop, and thank VANESSA for all her help.  She's my Web Mistress, and despite that title, "Mistress," she has never offered once to whip me.

I'm not exactly sure what I'll write about, but over time I'm sure something will kick in.

So...for now...RANDOM THOUGHTS AND IDEAS

I am selling my digital movie camera.  In fact, I'm taking bids...In short, going to auction it off.  Bids have to be serious, and start at at least $50.  Those living in the Albany area will be best to bid.  Why?  I will only accept cash.  I'll post the specs on the camera tomorrow.

I'm always looking for new people to model for me, so if you're interested, drop me an email, along with a current picture.  For now, I'm only doing females.

Soon, very soon I hope, I will be doing a serious of shots in some historical locations in and around Albany...so keep a head's up.

That's all I want to write for now.
